Classroom/Group Range Training

We are pleased to offer the following types of classroom and group range training. Below are some courses with their descriptions. Use of Force & Liabilities Course– This course will cover the Castle Doctrine and where it extends beyond your home.  What you need to know including when you’re able to defend yourself using deadly force. Also included is the civil liability that you may face and what you can do to prepare yourself. Additionally, we will review scenarios that you may face, the proper outcome and what not to do.  Our instruction is delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment that involves group discussion and plenty of time to ask your instructors questions. **We recently added de-escalation techniques to this course** Our next course for this specific class is on October 7, 2024, November 4, 2024 & December 16, 2024.

Defensive Pistol 101 (formerly named Concealed Carry) – This course is great for those who are training to obtain their Permit to Carry, already have it or just want defensive pistol training. Covered in this course will be everything from firearms and holster selection as well as placement, drawing from concealed and re-holstering, reloading, cover versus concealment, the use of cover, malfunctions, low light engagements, and flashlight consideration.  Approximately 400 rounds will be fired during the course including a qualification course for your New Jersey Permit to Carry. Ammunition is included in the cost of the course. Our next course is
October 6, 2024, November 2, 2024 & December 1, 2024 .

Permit to Carry – we require the Use of Force & Liabilities Course and the Defensive Pistol Course. Once completed you will receive the documentation required to move forward with the application process.

Basic Firearms Course – In this course we cover basic rules of firearms safety, range etiquette, transportation and storage of firearms, nomenclature, cycle of operation, gun cleaning and basic shooting principals.  This course can be delivered in a group setting or a private setting should you chose. Our next course for this specific class is on

Advanced Pistol Course– Want to take your pistol skills to the next level? Join us as we explore all of the little things that separate master shooters from average shooters. This is a combat / defensive course that translates well for concealed carry, law enforcement, or home defense applications.  We consider this an intermediate + level course. Students must be proficient working a handgun from a holster.   Regardless of your perceived skill level, you will see improvement in your gun handling and shooting skills after attending this course.

This is an intense 4 hour “high volume” shooting class. 

Class requirements: A reliable combat Pistol and at least 3 magazines (5 is preferred), a proper holster, belt and magazine carrier for your pistol, Good eye and ear protection.


Low Light Concealed Carry Course – This course will cover low light shooting principles, low light engagements, use of handheld and weapon mounted lights, different lighting scenarios, selection of lights, etc. Clear Eye Protection and Hearing Protection is mandatory for this course. You do not need to have a Weapon Mounted Light for this course, a handheld light is acceptable. We want you to train how you will fight. We have some lights that you are welcome to try out.

Pistol Ballistics Workshop – Make an informed decision about your pistol ammunition.  Your choice in ammunition may be more important than your caliber or firearm!  In this workshop we’ll evaluate pistol bullet performance.  Using ballistic gelatin, you will be able to see how bullets react after encountering barriers such as various clothing densities, drywall and wood. We’ll use common pistol calibers and ammunition in different barrel lengths. You will also learn how bullet construction, velocity, caliber and barrel length all effect performance. In this workshop, our focus will be on NJ CCW compliant bullets. We will have an assortment of test ammo. Let us know if you have a round you would like to try out, bring it along and we will work it into the session. We will run out the workshop with other, less formal bullet evaluations. Basic Rifle Course  – This course will cover basic operation of the AR-15 platform including use of sighting systems (Iron and/or Optics), co-witness of sights, slings, shooting fundamentals, and bore line/sight line discrepancy.  Attendees will experience a dynamic range environment with shooting on-the-move and from various positions such as standing, prone, kneeling and sitting.  The use of cover, and shooting from cover, will be demonstrated as well as low light considerations.  Rifles will be sighted in for a 50 yard zero which will be the maximum distance fired in this course.  We will review the use of optics including co-witness with back-up iron sights.  Ammunition is included in the cost of this course.  Students should have an AR-15 Rifle with Sling, at least iron sights or an optic, and a minimum of three 10 round Magazines. Our next course for this specific class is on November 24, 2024.

The Complete AR-15 Rifle (Classroom Only) – Whether you are a novice or a master of the modern sporting rifle, this course will give you a better understanding of the AR-15 family of rifles. After attending the session, you will have the knowledge and confidence to safely enjoy this rifle system in a way that fits your personal needs.

  • Capabilities and limitations of the rifle
  • NJ laws regarding the modern sporting rifle

  • Disassembly, cleaning, maintenance and reassembly
  • Performing a proper function check
  • Malfunction clearing

You can bring your NJ compliant rifle and magazine or use one of ours. A portion of this class will be hands on. NO AMMUNITION WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE TRAINING AREA!

Basic Tactical Shotgun CourseAfter starting with a shotgun- specific safety briefing,  this course will cover shotgun setup for defensive applications, various shooting positions, and different types of ammunition available for shotguns. Various sighting systems, slings and weapon mounted lights will also be reviewed.  The instructors will focus on loading of the shotgun including select loading various types of ammunition, shooting on the move, use in tight quarters, and basic room clearing. We recommend participants bring a support side pouch to hold additional ammunition or BDU/Cargo Style Pants. Eye and Ear Protection is mandatory.
